The Unborn Me

Updated: Jan 24

Mum, it's me, your unborn daughter,

The one due to whom your size was

altered.

Not to worry now, I am out of your

womb,

Because, they said I was the reason of

your gloom.

Like other foetus, even I desired to come

into this world,

But least did I know that my wings would

be cut even before they fluttered.

Had I been let into this world, I would

have seeked nothing but an ounce of your

love, care and warmth,

Alas! I was destroyed, and what

eventually had won was your wrath!

What I wanted was a chance to prove

myself,

To show the world that even a girl can

strive with no one to help.

My aspirations and desires were no less

than others,

I would have pulled and portrayed myself

like my brothers.

There would come another chance, a

second chance for me to brief,

To make you believe, to make you happy

and not to become the reason of your

grief!
