The Unattainable Neverland

The gold skies drizzle

And murals painted blue

With heaps of joyous books and steadfast children

Now, there’s only trinkets left of November gloom

Comforting dances and welcoming smiles

This pretty little town of fairytales is mine

I urge you to find your way

Beware of the unknown, do not get astray

Put down your sorrows

And walk together hand in hand

Follow the pathway to heaven

Into the Neverland

Here, at the top of the world

Far beyond the hollow life, a new world awaits you

Below lies the land of pretense and angst

You’re no longer part of it so let go of my hand

Take a sip of this elixir I hand on to you

Bury away your memories to be simply lost in the light of the moon

Past Peter Pan who’s now just a lost child

Protect your eyes from the feral cat who’s wild

Now, you know why I brought you here

This is your dream to disappear

Now, you understand

It is the only escape from being mad
