The Tribute Of A Son
By Ghan Shyam B Pai
Swimming in the waters that never drowned me,
I had seen them before they saw me!
Even when my eyes couldn’t open,
To sense the first ray of light that came in,
With what? you might ask I had seen them,
But all I know is I had seen them!
I think to myself if I was their gift,
Or? to me the gift were them?
But then I see with my purest thoughts,
That no gem lies as precious as them!
Their words could heal my deepest wounds,
Their smile would make up my day.
Their kisses soothe the ruthless pain,
That even the mighty time wouldn’t heal!
Their hugs still wipe my tears away,
From the blushing cheeks as red as a rose.
The value of which only they’ll know,
Who had never had a thing to show.
Lucky are whom that have them all,
But not as fortunate as they give no eye!
Don’t know what I am to say,
Neither do I know how to thank!
But well versed in silence am I,
As for some things the words take no value,
Against the sacrifices that they’ve taken,
To make me stand up in the battle of the sons.
