The Story of Getting Wasted

I heard you're writing the story of getting wasted.

Tell me, what will you write?

A love that never made it?

Is that the story you tell?

I would've written pages until there was an end,

Where love prevailed with every blood cell

Scattered memories,

Broken hearts,

Pages best left untold.

There's no word that fits,

No word that can describe

A story of two hearts full of love,

But a grip too weak to hold

So you continue to write your part,

But I have one question:

Will you write about the promises made, Your love and obsession?

How will you hide the guilt and sorrow in your tone,

When all the feelings of the heart

Will eventually unravel?

In this story of separation,

You'll write that part with the most hesitation.

The sweetness of ease after hardship, You will never know,

Because you allowed obstacles

To make your decision,

And chose to let this love story go.

So if this story must come to an end Before its conclusion,

Then allow me to say this to you:

A true love would've moved mountains to be with you.

In your story of getting wasted,

Write my name too:

A love incomplete,

All the efforts that never made it through.
