The Storm In My Mind

By Aashna Shah

Often in my head there is a lot of noise.

It lacks clarity as there is more than one voice.

It’s just a pull I feel where the destination unknown.

It just leads to my mind and body to be worn.

If only it were easy as a puzzle where it was about making the pieces fit

But here it’s like the bigger picture ceases to exist.

So, I hang on tight while the inner turmoil plays out.

While all my heart wants to do is scream and shout

But instead, I am prefer the external silence as I cant deal with any more noise

And only when the storm settles down do I regain my own external voice.
