The Stark Reality Of Life

We live in a world,

Where everyone wears a mask,

Finding the real truth behind a facade,

Is not an easy task,

Some may cry in vain,

While some pretend to be sane,

No one knows what happens behind closed doors,

Whether one sleeps on a bed or on a floor,

A house may have a beautiful decor,

But it’s inmates may not be beautiful to the core,

Beautifully painted faces, may have ugly stories to tell,

Outwardly they may look happy,

But their life maybe as miserable as hell,

What appears to be an “oasis” in the desert,

May just be a mirage,

Just like people who appear nice and sweet,

Waiting for an opportunity,

To stab their victims in their back, till they bleed,

Life is not always beautiful,

It’s only an illusion,

As people hide very well,

Their negative emotions,

This is the stark reality of life,

What appears on the surface,

Is not, what goes on inside.
