The Smoke Cleared Again
By Madhurima Sengupta
The room was quiet
The whirring fan was unplugged
Everything I ever thought of,
Seemed unreal.
The blueness above me had never seemed so lucid Unwritten forevers were ripped apart in the dusty fluid I had always been quieter, less opinionated less me.
Tried to shrink,
Not let myself be.
What if I had always wronged myself?
What if I could do it all,
but was too scared to watch my dreams fall? I was standing in the haunted grave
Of my Intoxicated dreams
Looking up at the infinity
Wondering what medicine did the stars possess Shaking the core of my fidelity
Crafting storms
Making me kneel before time
But maybe it was my hour to refine
All the pieces had to fall in place
My midnight wonders had to take pace.
I wanted to tell you about the trees i saw today And the clouds coming your way
The ocean seemed kind
And I knew you wouldn't mind
When I told you I got hurt, then healed again Looked like a fool
for the adventure of being alive
Without being realistic
I Danced with the wild
I became the beautiful, brave soul again. Life is a miracle of miracles.
And The city shined brightly through the smoke again.
