The Sky Is A Lie
By Silpi Sikha Das
Under the moon, I stand.
Deceit stricken.
My eyes are the black craters.
It is all silent.
Like the solid blue sky.
The sky, a hoax...
A promise unkept,
A fallacy, a fallacy!
A magnificent traitor.
The clouds made it up,
In hypnotic whirlpools.
The stars fashioned it,
The stars are luminous!
It lured me...
Into its blue fantasy.
At night, into its depths.
I am so gullible,
I despise myself.
So must be the moon,
To float around,
To live, to trust...
In the comfort of nothing.
There is no such thing as "sky",
Only a stratum of chromatic ridicule,
A false saga...
I loathe myself
For beleiving in it,
Painting it in colours,
For seeing it.
The sky is a lie...
And the moon must be blind.
