The Silver Hue

Amidst the thinning hair..

I caught a glimpse of grey

standing alone but sober..

like a shrivelled tree in the greens

Am I getting over the hill..

a sense of gloom prevailed

Why can’t you leave me..

in my ever agile youth

I’ll leave you never ever..

uttered the mature grey

your close consort..

for the propitious path ahead

Seen your long travails..

and the reigning peace

I’ve chosen to surface..

to extol the indomitable spirit

With time I’m sure..

you’ll adore me far more

and with all that silver hue..

you’ll be the proudest man alive.
