The Secret

She found it when she was a tiny toddler,

who told everything to her mother.

She wanted to share it,

but the wily old snake stopped her.

She found so many of its progeny,

but never its twin.

Some broke through her,

but the rest, she kept within.

Her burden grew with her.

till she couldn't carry it,

till she wouldn't bear it.

So she started to sell it.

She gave away each and every she found,

but the one that started it all.

The one that caused her to rise and then fall.

The one she loved of all, her absolute fave.

The one that accompanied her to the grave.
