The Same Dream Again

In the rogue dwindling night

The darkness covering the light

The smell of earth wet from rain

The same dream again

It was, in the middle of the night

Beautifully lit under the moonlight

The silence was eerie and plain

The same dream again

I recognized every second of the night

Million times had I lived through this fight

Repeating on loop in my brain

The same dream again

I could hear the laugh of the night

Mocking my pain in the height

The scene had my energy drained

The same dream again

There it was, a shadow in the night

One I could recognize without sight

The tears spilled from my eyes, even though I trained

The same dream yet again

Sorrys were the only thing heard in the night

“How did it turn like this, from bright?”

It was my decision that brought all the pain

The same dream again

I once loved the shadow of the night

Loved seeing him be the shining knight

But now he is who haunts the twilight rain

The same dream again

It was because of me it turned, that night

It was me who thought wrong was right

I lost you in a second, though I tried in vain

The same dream again

How I wished I could change that night

Reverse time with all my might

A mistake blotted like a bloodstain

The same dream again

I woke up, finally, reliving the night

The only way I could cope was to write

I wrote of the one that I wished with to remain

Of the same dream again
