The Rope

Help me to continue the climb,

Despite the hurdles and cries,

The tight binds might sear the heart,

The loose ones will drift you apart.

Not looking down or back,

Or to and fro,

Focusing on the peak,

And continuing the streak.

Finding it’s way through darkness,

Or bask calmly in light,

This rope continues to swing,

And relaxes only to eternal wings.

One knot will spoil the flow,

One cut will cost a life,

The hard pull stretches it long,

And a leave could finish it all.
