The Raindrop

There lived a raindrop..

cuddled inside the dark cloud

ever naive and restive..

waiting for its eventual splash

With a heavy roar and flash..

began the fated descent

breaking apart..

It’s pristine motherly ties

“You’re too tiny “..

whispered the impish winds

“tenuous and pliant..

too fragile for the harsh earth “

Embosomed by the dull soil..

It gifted a subtle savour

Jolting it’s bumpy course..

through the rocks and hills

Cruising through the plains..

bearing the sanguine hopes

growing along in grit..

yet ever zealous in spirit

Watching aghast the mighty sea..

It merged to the cold embrace

for it’s not a demure drop now..

but the puissant sea itself.
