The Prisoner

I still remember those days,

Happiness danced with us.

Life was an adventure,

And we were ready, no fuss.

Our voices were so loud,

And louder was the laughter,

For there were no burdens then,

We didn’t know what comes after.

I was going to be a queen,

I was precious and bright.

How did we end up here?

I can’t tell my left from right.

There is only left darkness,

Where sun was always shining.

My face is on the ground,

The sun is never again rising.

My face is on the ground,

My limbs are broken,

They left me here to die,

There will be no revolution.

First a queen, then a soldier,

I have lost all I had,

My mind is prison, here

I will rot until I am dead.
