How strong are you?

Is a question asked by many,

Is it because I am weak?

Or is it because they want to suppress my strength before it reaches its peak,

According to me their thinking needs to change,

But I am objectified and forced to live in a cage.

I want to fly with my wings spread out,

The voice of my soul wants to shout,

Then what is it that’s stopping me?

I know doors will be closed but the power within is my key.

My job in this world is not just to make tea or coffee,

From these prejudices I want to be free.

I am not just a piece of furniture,

I am a creator and a nurturer,

I am not just someone’s wife,

I am the origin of a life.

Yes, I am a woman,

My power is beyond measure,

But only a few look at me as treasure,

The rest as a source of pleasure,

But it is a fault in their eyes,

Now I won’t be restricted by society’s ties,

In a world ruled by men,

I will lead the way for women.
