I miss the person I could have been

If only I had taken the jump and made a different decision.

The person I could have been

If I was less concerned about how my actions affects others.

Or the person I could have been

If the world was fairer and

We had an even footing at the beginning.

I mourn the person I could have been

I mourn the version of me that I could have loved

or maybe even liked.

A person 15 year old me would be proud of

A person that I would have looked up at

Anything more than I am right now.

I mourn the version that could have been more than what lies in front of eyes.

I close the casket

And say goodbye.

This is not who I was supposed to become

This is not how I was supposed to be

This is not how I was supposed to be

This is not how I was supposed to be.
