The Old Us

By Devanshi Assija

Trying to find the you i remember

The one I adored

But the hopes as always surrender

Leaving me wishing for this to not be true.

Children walking past me smiling

Whilst i stand looking at the night sky

Craving to be like xem

To experience the golden days one more time.

Lost the smile long ago

Just as you disappeared years before

Still trying to hold on to the colorless life

For you promised it will be worth the time.

Struggling to find the exit to this place

To reach out to you and be the family we were again

So i hope I succeed one day

Cause I haven’t forgotten about our memories even today.
