The Night In The Woods
By Antony Alphonse
The moon is shining in the sky like a diamond in the face of a beautiful indian girl.
I can hear the the melody of the strings that flows near to me.
It glitters as if it carries the lights of moon that resembles in it.
It flows like a shining lava comes out from volcano.
Bamboos near the stream whistles as if it encourages the flowing river.
Leaves of the trees are dancing with the cool breeze from the snowy mountains.
The cry of the cricket together with other unknown insects makes a great symphony.
I am laying at the cliff in the midst of woods, looking at the moon and meditating on the miraculous
work of the creator.
That sparkling tiny dots in the sky seems to be the holes in the dark blue saree of my chachi.
As the darkness of the night in the woods thickens the beauty of the twilight doubles.
Its true to say that 'One who has seen death, face to face will never have a fearful heart.'
But a night in the woods alone, can arouse fear in any brave heart.
I can see the the lantern shines in my tent a few yards away.
As the hero of the day goes into deep sleep, the heroes of the woods are awake.
Unknown cries are breaking the silence of the woods.
Each cry from the woods is either an end of a life, or a continuation of a life.
One's end, will give life to another. No one to cry or to ponder over it.
Who knows at what hour this piece of flesh quenches the crave for life of any creature of woods.
Though I trust the fire spitting instrument near to me. But it could also be of no use.
I trust, My obedient pet, 'Hunter' the huge doggy who even sacrifice his life for me.
He can smell the danger even from the gentle breeze that blushes you up.
Its so difficult to withstand the power of the heroes of jungle.
Ones annoyed, they finish what comes against them.
Dont be a stranger to the woods but just be a part of it.
The woods never denies what it owns.
Learn to feel it, love it and be a part of it.
The days in the woods are of fun but the nights are of a cute fairy.
The flies of fire makes the dark a bit glittery.
As the silver coin of the sky comes up even the bones start to shiver.
All the needles in the watch reached in one place and pose for a moment to wake the next date to
come.
I should go back to my tent else I will be frozened.
As I enter my tiny tent and leans to have a rest, a cry is heard from far.
My hunter turns up and his ears are trying to grasp something
Far from my tent I listen the huzling of the wind just like a lullaby.
I close my eyes to see the depth of the woods and I felt the silence of the woods within me....
