The Moon Doesn't Chase the Sun

The moon does not chase the sun,

nor beg the stars to stay.

It simply waits beneath the dark

until the night becomes its day.

Perhaps we should be more like that-

to loosen every desperate thread,

to stop pursuing what has left

and trust what finds us instead.

For some things disappear from sight

not because they're meant to end,

but because the sky is making room

for something else to descend.
