The Moon
By Krutika Tawde
At the fiery Stars, all time I gaze
never once did I ever incline
towards that charm so swell, you did call it Success
but I intend to never ignite and burn my existence away...
Around a lively planet, all time I revolve
who always seek to pull me in
with an appeal so strong, you did call it Love
but I intend to never give my identity away...
In a vast Spacetime, for some time I exist
perpetually striving to be myself
towards a goal so authentic, you did call it destiny
but I intend never to forget the efforts spent to realise
that Success and Love don’t equate to Life...
But Life, I experience
staring right up at me, curiously...
In the dark, I am a mystery to unveil
to be enlightened by Success,
to be guided by Love
‘an open source for questions,
yet to be found or formed
also never meant to be asked outright’
you can call me The Moon
you need Me but I don’t need You.
Highlight : Insecurity and comparison is something I see a lot in this reality we live in, though it is known to exist since the very beginning of the human life, it’s not-so-good consequences are on the rise, more prevalent now than ever, taken to extremes. With this above short poem I wish to emphasize how unique every existence is.
The world needs you and that’s why you exist as you are.
Nobody needs to become somebody, you become you.
Cheers 😊
