The Missing Piece
By Kritika Kashyap
Shivering down the heavy raining clouds
I was walking with my eyes closed and head tilted low
Raindrops were covering up the tears so perfectly
And my hands handling a very broken soul
I sat down and let those pieces of my heart fall out
I feel numb and clueless about the future
Watching every piece of it
I see-
"Grow up"
-I am trying
"Behave like a girl"
-I am trying
"Stop being so selfish"
-when did I?
"Why are you expecting me to love you?"
- I don't know
"No, you can't"
-I can
"Stop speaking like you know everything"
-But-
"Stop behaving like that"
-Okay
"Stop speaking"
-Okay
"Don't be around me"
-Okay
"Go away"
-Okay
"Ugly"
"Childish"
"Self-centred"
"Weak"
"Book-worm"
"Stupid"
"Worst"
-Okay
I tried fixing them and keeping them together
Spoke
-mistake
Explained
-mistake
Cried
-mistake
Hid
-mistake
Was silent
-mistake
At last, I tried to do nothing
-maybe better
Fixing the cracks, I found a hollow space
I tried finding the missing piece all inside me
Looked it inside the people
Inside every sadness
Inside every mistake
And inside every problem
But found nothing
The person who broke it made a space which can never be filled
Should I live with it?
