The Lonely Tree

Once I stood

In an enchanted forest

I gave it no care

Though beautiful and honest

But then i saw

A lonely tree

I wonder why

It appealed to me

Should've known it would be my downfall

Trying to restore an infected tree

I wanted it to take solace in me

But it unleashed it's demons

Took me down with it

I should've known

I had all the warnings

The lonely tree

Was meant to be.
