The Loneliness Of Longing
By Syed Mohammad Ismail Quli
In the quiet of the night,
When darkness reigns and stars shine bright,
I sit alone with a heart contrite,
Longing for you, my love, with all my might.
But you're gone, and I'm left here,
Lost in a world of pain and fear,
Aching for you to draw near,
To chase away this constant tear.
The loneliness is suffocating,
A void within that's never abating,
A heart that's shattered and deflating,
As I try to keep my sanity from fading.
Oh, how I miss you, my love,
Like a bird yearning for the sky above,
Aching for you, like a hand in a glove,
Lost without you, in this world so tough.
The emptiness of your absence,
A weight that's heavy and immense,
A love that's gone, and left no pretence,
As I search for solace, in your recompense.
But you're gone, and I'm left here,
Lost in a world of pain and fear,
Aching for you to draw near,
To chase away this constant tear.
