The Lone Leaf

The wind deceived to take me to paradise,

I flew away leaving everything behind.

I fell into its bait

because impatience was my trait.

I lost my fuel and flight

I couldn’t put up a fight.

I fell down like a piece of dirt,

didn’t know this could hurt.

I staggered upon the ground

trudged my homeland to be found.

The tides came in,

the sea pulled me in.

I hovered over the deep sea,

dancing in deep despair.

Salt sealed my belief,

I knew I was a lone leaf

floating in the chasmic sea

reaching to the horizon.

I knew I was a lone leaf.
