The Lifetree

The wind blew hard...

shaking the wilted leaves

prompting memories...

of the old grand tree

Once I was a dormant seed...

laid deep, yet alive

hard and resilient...

for I carried the emerging life

As a sapling born soft...

naive and so pliant

I danced in the gentle breeze...

relishing the youthful bliss

The trunk grew broad...

robust and stout

I stood so heavenly tall...

enduring the mighty winds

The agile green leaves...

started to turn pale

for I sensed for once...

the gloom of nearing end

But why dismay…

over the divine plans ?

let the wholesome life end

let the last leaf fall.
