The Last Four-Leaved Clover

Something stayed behind in the winter frost, The memories of a magic that I lost.

A heavy stone sits crowded on my chest, A loop of cold that never lets me rest. The seasons turn, the autumn leaves descend, But my winter feels like it will never end. They told me to wait, to watch the world align, That faith, hope, love, and luck would all be mine. The one who said it was all four to me, The only magic that I used to see.

But eighteen years have vanished in the cold, And eighteen leaves are all my fingers hold. I keep on searching, looking for the same, Whispering a promise, whispering a name. But every green leaf fades to winter's rust, I'm still trapped in the loop of what I trust. Eighteen years of waiting for the spring to call, Still lost inside the loop of winter’s last fall.
