The King's Quest
By Rohan Mathew
On the night of the full moon,
A king wandered alone, his empire lost,
His heart aching for a purpose, a goal,
His crown now just a burden, heavy and cold.
Once mighty and powerful, feared by all,
Now a mere mortal, lost in the thrall,
Of darkness and doubt, he sought his soul,
A journey he must take, to once again be whole.
Through the forests he roamed, and deserts vast,
Climbed the highest mountains, crossed oceans vast,
He faced his demons, battled his fears,
Sought redemption in his silent tears.
On his quest for salvation, he found a truth,
That all his wealth and power were mere fleeting youth,
And in his surrender, he found his might,
And his soul was set free, in the full moon's light.
No longer a king, but a soul reborn,
He found his purpose, in the dawn of morn,
His journey complete, his heart now pure,
He walked a new path, his future secure.
