The Judgement Day

Those blades of grass are greener

where I lay,

counting the ages

that have passed

since my last breath.

A butterfly quarrels with a bee

for a flower

that has bloomed

just above my nose.

I smell its fragrance by stealth.

Bringing the news of The Day,

when we all will be Called forth

to account for our deeds,

an ant digs deeper into the earth,

close to my head.
