The Inward Battle

Forgive.

Why do you find it so hard to forgive?

Do you believe that I can't relate?

Do you think because I'm perfect that I am without feelings?

Do you believe I'm immune to hurt?

He who loves deeply, hurts deeply.

The hurt and the pain were perfected in me because of my perfect love.

"They hurt me", you say

"I didn't deserve it", you say

Did I?

Did you?

No we didn't.

But do you deserve to live constantly in the nightmare of it all?

Why punish yourself?

My best friend, a friend like a brother betrayed me in the worst way possible,

My life was valued to that of a slave,

My love, you hurt me so deeply while literally giving my life for you.

The emotional anguish and betrayal, the mockery and scorn, the abandonment and denial, the loneliness inside and out...

The stabbing in my head, the hooks and metal tearing my flesh, the slaps to my face and my nakedness on display…

I don't know which hurt more.

But I never held it against you. I never allowed anger nor hurt to stay, I forgave and welcomed you, my friend.

You deny me in front of your friends, you're ashamed of me so you'd rather not introduce me to them.

What have I ever done for you to treat me like this?

Yet, my love for you has never wavered.

I say this to say that, you are not alone,

I bled so that you can be healed,

I died so that you can live.

Forgiving is possible.

Why be weighed down by the weight of the past?

Why protect the hurt?

The more weight you lose naturally, the younger you look.

The more you let go, is the more you will be able to reach for greater. If your hands are full, you cannot receive.

Let it go, let it all go.

You have so much awaiting you.

Don't limit yourself.

Don't let one hiccup prevent you from enjoying the meal,

Dig in!
