The Girl Who Cried
By Roze Menon
She was the girl who cried anywhere,
Even a little hurt she couldn’t bear.
They called her names as she cried,
Laughed at her when her tears never dried.
Standing in a room full of people watching,
Unable to hide her feelings blurting.
No one thought to ask or think why,
Why the girl was so sensitive with her eyes.
Otherwise, she had this big shield,
Put out a face of strength, sealed.
Letting people into her life carefully,
It didn’t save her from any hurt, fully.
Holding a face, hard to approach,
Only talking to some within her reach.
She didn’t know she was confining her world,
Crying to sleep at the corner of the bed, curled.
People had already made up, who’s strong and who’s weak,
The feelings inside, no one wanted to seek.
