The Girl In The Tower

“Wait” they said.

And waited I have

But none has come

To save me from my tower

Days; weeks; months;

Years; decades; centuries;

I could wait, and wait, and wait

But wouldn’t it be in vain?

For no one comes in the end,

Because in a world

Full of beauty, love, romance;

No one stops to admire.

If no one comes,

I’ll still leave the window open;

Not for a prince charming-

Nor for a Knight in shining armour-

But for me.

The one stuck in the tower

I’ll still leave the window open;

Because maybe...

The love of my life

Has always been;

The girl who wrote poems,

To survive the silence.

Because maybe...
