The Girl By The Window

Sitting by the widow

holding a cup of coffee

gazing through the swirl of wind

hopes the girl for the day

she’d find her fated place

and won’t be as lost as today

wishes the girl, for a time

she’d find merry in herself

and won’t fear missing out

on the jubilees far away

awaits the girl, for the day

she’s attained the credence

to stand by her choice

unbothered by what others have to say

dreams the girl, for the moment

she’d stand tall to look back

at the vulnerabilities she fought

in order to pave her way

gazing through the drift of air

aspires the girl, of the day

she’d find her worth

and won’t be as lost as today
