THE FORGE OF THOUGHTS
What is sacrifice really about?
I am transformed into the sacrificial lamb,
slaughtered so another may live unbound,
while I am left bearing the scars.
That is why I exile myself from toxic circles,
refusing to be led astray into a world of compromised ways. I am a good soul, conflicted by design;
I ache when I stumble, and heal when I align, yet I am no flawless saint.
I refuse the weight of peer pressure-
when the crowd pushes, I step away from the noise, for life itself carries enough heavy gravity
without inheriting the chaos of another man’s storm. See what I see.
What my eyes have witnessed remains unseen to yours. I have watched sins stretch out longer than a seesaw. My sight captures the raw pulse of nature,
watching vast seas and heavy waves crashing over you. Do not mistake this for four eyes; this is foresight. A vision that penetrates far beyond the surface. I see the surplus while you glimpse the scarcity, leaving me to ponder, to wonder,
and to watch my heart grow fonder.
And then, my sight finds her-a breathtaking view. I once claimed to hate love,
though I used to love the very idea of loving a lover. Now, I pour out affection only to inherit empty hands. An unreciprocal currency.
How can I love love when love refuses to love me back? Yet the throat parches, the spirit yearns,
thirsting for a well that refuses to quench the fire. Consider time.
Time waits for no mortal.
It was never granted wings, yet it flies-
from nanoseconds to milliseconds, hours into lifetimes. We complain of scarcity, forgetting that time is timely, a sacred ledger that does not belong to us,
but a handful of moments borrowed from the Divine. Suddenly, the mind turns unholy.
Impure currents and lustful thoughts of a woman so striking that if beauty were an offense, she would face a life sentence- denied bail, with the iron keys thrown into oblivion. My imagination wanders into the dark.
I see my lips planted on hers, a thief stealing kisses in the night. Eyes locked, scent inhaled, ears drinking in her voice, hands tracing the architecture of her skin.
If I left my fingerprints along the contours of her frame, leaving a trail of quiet fire across every inch,
would my touch impress her?
Would she yield to the depth and momentum of the rhythm, moaning my name into the quiet space?
But it is a figment. A mirage of pure, unjustified pleasure. I adjust, I justify, balancing actions that were never quite just. My words give birth to nouns, verbs, and pronouns. Let me command the stage with the iron I have forged. Could William Shakespeare ever truly shake a spear? Did William Wordsworth really know what his words were worth? Perhaps less than a nickel, or more than a rare penny. So here is a penny for your thoughts.
I am the Wordsmith.
I forge these lines to leave your minds stranded like broken DNA. So ask yourself, as the smoke clears from the anvil: Am I not the artisan of the very words I smith?
