THE FIGHT

Original Submission by Makhanda

THE FIGHT

Swinging through bustling slippery streets.

I see the skies break open with pearl white tears.

Yet all around I can only witness the joy within our sorrows. As we break forth with the rainbow, under the covenant of the morrow.

One of the most important lessons I’d ever learn.

The bashing of shoulders and collision of mass.

The laughter that overrides the shed blood of the past.

The exhuming of graves to resurrect bonds long buried.

So that in arms you may lay the stone upon the tombs of those already decayed, beyond saving.

Grace, Forgiveness

To stand against the tides and the blight.

Knowing as your knee buckles and yields another you once scarred but could not destroy shall take up the fight.

The correction causing incisions of convictions.

Strategically healing that which was once lost.

Standing against all that is wrong, even as faces all so familiar refuse to do what’s right.

Lending a proverb from the 18 who arrived before the 24.

What is a man without his sword?

Yet what is an army if only one man?

A den of death brought by nought by your own hands. For the sword was made not only to clash but to resonate The word of truth among souls who have reached and grasped In the times they were desolate.

For even in the Den was Daniel given lions.

Even in death was Samson given the spirit.

What is a fight without contenders.

Yet what is an army without those placed next to you by his holy power. What truly is the fight.
