The Eternal Sleep

See, oh heartless world, and rejoice,

Your scorned child goes, but with such poise!

The one you did discard and despised,

Cold, lifeless at your feet lies.

The one on whose smile you so frowned,

To your selfish ties are no longer bound.

The one on whom you showered misery,

From your bonds of slavery is now free.

Hence, oh vile world, rejoice, pretend not to weep,

As the purest being on your face sleeps an eternal sleep.
