The Engineering Exploitation

By Aditi Mehendale

When you are to appear for an engineering examination,

the whole year elapses in you just chasing your studies.

When seldom you are about to study,

there is some or the other hurdle standing at the door.

Then you just have to wait and watch;

and keep your cool while your patience is tried.

Then again, you have your schedule made busy with all your studies and assignments sort of stuff,

but which no wonder,

smashes and shatters gradually or drastically and completely.

You are nothing but a helpless toy in the hands of the teachers,

because you are expected to attend their monotonous lullaby,

which puts you to a slumber.

But you have to be ready suffice to confront the exploitation of submissions which no doubt,

bring you back to the bitter reality.

But again, quite optimistically, you keep patience when you realize that the preparation leaves - (a small ray of hope) are just around the corner,

but, to your dismay, those too pass soon without any prior intimation.

And to your surprise, you are left with nothing but a hopeless one day international match.

All you have to do is to browse through the large tomes.

You are taken aback when you open them for the first time.

No need to say that all the previous night you are wide awake, with just keeping those unfamiliar books with you.

At last, you end up facing the engineering examination,

when you give a blank stare at your question paper.

And merely stare into nothingness

and find yourself scribbling something on the paper;

that is the brutal end.
