The End Of A Planet
By Anantjit Chander
In the silence of space, I float alone
My planet consumed, my home unknown
I watch as the black hole swallows all
A void so vast, a fate so small
I am but a speck, a cosmic mistake
My life, my dreams, all about to break
As I drift towards the endless abyss
I ponder my fate, my life's final kiss
I think of my family, my friends left behind
The memories we shared, the love intertwined
I wish I could tell them how much they meant
Before my body, into nothingness is sent
I wonder if there is life beyond this hole
Or if I am the last of my species, alone
I think of the stars, the galaxies untold
All the wonders of the universe, now so cold
As my ship begins to shake and tremble
I feel my heart race, my thoughts assemble
I close my eyes and take a deep breath
Embracing my fate, my inevitable death
But as I slip away into the unknown
A sense of peace, a calmness is shown
For I am part of the universe divine
A mere fragment, but always intertwined
And though my body is lost in the black hole's grip
My spirit lives on, in the stars that still drip
My legacy lives on, in the memories I leave
In the love I gave, the kindness I received.
