The End

She was in her hut,

Anxiety wrapped her,

Out the field was empty,

Nowhere had she seen him,

Her fear for him grew,

She waited with hope,

Just to see his safe return.

Hours rolled but return not him,

She waited though,

The sun had set,

And she was pregnant,

She was elated yet dejected.

Wind blew and finally he came,

From battlefield drenched in blood,

He was breathless and dead,

She fell down to her knees and wept,

She could not say him,

For what they wished to be,

She hugged him and was dead.
