The Edge Of A Window
By Babitlang Shabong
There at the edge of a window he stood still,
The night was as clear as the waters of the mountain springs;
With a bright light it seemed like the moon was smiling,
And like the touch of a feather, the cool breeze kissed his bare skin.
He took a deep breath and wrapped up his arms,
It was then his eyes took him to the brightest of stars;
“Here I Am” he heard a sweet subtle whisper,
Mesmerized by its spark and the way it was shining;
He felt like it wanted to tell him something.
He could not help but to keep on gazing
And unknowingly he got carried away,
Away to the neverlands of imagination
Where all his ‘What Ifs’ seemed possible in every way.
Suddenly….!
The breeze got cooler, that it woke him up
And brought him back to consciousness,
The consciousness of reality he wished it’s all but just a dream.
Little did he know that in just a moment,
The brightest of stars turned into
Crystals that streamed down from his precious tender eyes.
