The Eagle's Flight
By Vinu K Saji
I, once, stood under a mountain peak
My chances of scaling the titan, bleak
From above, the titan would say to me
"Stay on the ground, 'tis my decree"
Every time I scaled the mountainside
The haughty titan would push me aside
I would fall to the ground, beaten and bruised
All of my energy, in its entirety, used
From the ground, I would look up at the sky
And see a mighty Eagle soar by
He flew much higher than the Mountain's crown
Looking at him, the Titan would frown
The Eagle's flight seemed to give me hope
Strength from within to climb the slope
I gulped down my fear of heights
And set the Titan's head in my sights
I finally reached the mountain's crown
And, at the vanquished heights, looked down
What held me from reaching up here?
The titan's height or was it my own fear?
He too must have feared the skies
Before the Eagle learnt to rise
So, let not fear cloud your sight
Take a deep breath, then take flight
