The Divine

You worship her in daylight

And torture her at dawn

You ask forgiveness in fright

While leaving her to mourn

After tearing her from parts

You smell like sandalwood

What do you think you are

She recognised your dark arts

You promise to protect her

And immerse in holy river

But who will protect her from you?

You sense victory when she shivers

You can’t stop a voiceless scream

While she is sleeping in disguise

You will suffer in your dreams

And be killed by her brutal smile

When she rises its the end

Beware monsters cut your throat

Respect the floor she cleans for you

Or be the body she leaves to rot
