The Day She Says Yes
By Anurag Roy
I am waiting for the day,
The day, she will finally say,
Yes Dear, I love you too,
And this love, has found a way, to me from you.
But for now the look on her face,
After my confession, tells me that she's in a daze.
It made me realize, that it was a mistake,
To risk the friendship we had for something I thought we could make.
But apologising for what I confessed,
Will make matters worse instead.
So I'm ready to wait long, long enough,
To make her mine, even if it becomes a wait too tough.
She believes I'm an optimist
But deep down, I am a pessimist
I know this quite clearly, that there is more chance,
Of denial and a broken heart than her falling for me and holding my hand to dance.
The day she says 'Yes', will be a glorious one,
And if ever it happens, I will consider that I won,
In the game that we call 'Love', where it's too difficult to find,
A person who possesses our desired needs of a good heart and mind.
