The Cry

I still remember the cry

The cry from the eyes gone dry

The cry of an innocent baby's hunger

Signalling his mother with its litte finger

To feed it with some food, just little food

Which she was supposed to do, which she should

The little kid was not aware

His father was not someone to care

His father who was drowned in his drink

Had forgotten even the link

Between him and his crying child

How cruel of him, how wild

The kid knew not

The world to which he was brought

Was as cruel as his father

And as helpless as his mother

Those who are uncaring are very rich

Those who care have nothing which

They could have offered this starving kid

And that was what even I did

Had I something to given that day

The innocent child would'nt have passed away

When the heart fallis in love with money

And the drink replaces milk and honey

When thorns of hatred replace flowers of love

When ego lifts people a level above

When earning gives place to lending and borrow

And someone's pleasure leads to someone's sorrow

The pots go empty and wells go dry

That's when I recall that I

Still remember the pain filled cry
