The Crowning Truth

Everyone's born with a crown

But only some choose to wear it

Quiet dignity, personal power

Victory, glory

Are something we all inherit

Yet somewhere along the passage of life

We lose a bit of ourselves

We learn to doubt

Discredit our abilities

We learn to fear

We learn to despair

Question our crown wearing flair

We start to believe

That only kings and queens

Are righteously ordained

With the power of wearing a crown

But the crowning truth is

That power and dignity

Victory and glory

Are equal for everybody

So is responsibility and rules to abide

It's not so much about absolute power

But more about personal power

The inherent ability

To change the course of events

By controlling the direction of thoughts

Exuding quiet dignity

In matters of heart and mind

Believing we can do the impossible

Achieve victory, bask in glory

That we too are worthy

Of all that the crown means

So, come on now

Adjust the invisible crown

The one made with strength and courage

Wear it with pride

Be unafraid

Of your grace and greatness

Or doubt whether this is the right place

To be all that you are meant to be

King or queen

Eventually you'll befit the crown

Perfectly.
