I’ve always admired my poetic sense,

Thought my writings were intense,

But now, to me, they make no sense.

Is it because I’ve learnt new lessons?

I’ve gained a lot from worldly presence,

I’ve tasted the essence of both medicine and poison,

I’ve realized that the mind can be both comfort and prison.

The love that I’ve given and taken,

Has made me write a dozen,

About people stepping in & out of my horizon,

But I’ll see worth of the ones who’ve forgiven,

And loved me like I were straight from the heavens.

And I’ve understood, there were reasons,

As to why I was given,

What I was given.

And I’m driven by the love that’ll strengthen,

My soul from within.
