The Closer You Get The Farther It Seems

like being in a small village amongst the shadow of realms.

A door that opens which had always remained closed

the curiosity to see what’s behind it, it doesn't matter what others choose

A new world that awaits you, the obstacles that lie within

It may lead you to the path of truth, or make you commit a sin

A wind that blows in, just a warning for you to halt

but your curiosity has won over your soul, and your soul is in revolt

A hand rising from the ground to help you into the door

Causing you to be afraid to be pulled beneath the floor

Your mind fighting with all its might to stop you

but your heart wants it badly, though it’s without a clue

A feeling you have never felt before, you put your hand to your face

You just need to know if it’s real, you feel the need to embrace

You put one step forward and the next one follows

and you feel something filling up your soul's hollows

You have walked in, a path you have chosen

there is no way back, no alternate way, no more choices

You don’t even know, yet what lies behind the door, what it holds for you

but the door closes, it closes behind you

leaving you alone in a world so new.

The start of a new beginning to lead to a new end.
