The Church Bells

Far beyond the snowy mountains, in the forest of the northern land,

there was a young and little town, where the church bells rang,

atop mighty bell towers they hung, with serenity and harmony they rung.

The bells would ring through the day, calling the lord’s worshippers to pray,

some asked him for more, some thanked him for what he gave.

The bells sung brightly, for the covenant of two souls,

they saw many of them shatter, a few become everlasting bonds.

The bells chanted solemnly, when the requiems were sung,

soothing all the passing souls and comforting the wailing ones.

Beyond those mountains, in the heart of the great city,

church bells are ringing, purging the city of darkness, sin, and melancholy.
