The Cheerful Dog

Courageous / doing something you've never done before

A little child at heart,

Roaming with the body of an 18 year old

It wasn't her fault,

The world wanted her to act a certain way

You're growing now! You should behave!

They said

They forgot she wasn't grown, rather she still was in the process of it

But as if they cared!

They let her be,

She managed heartbreaks, depression and a lot of responsibilities with those little shoulders, nobody knew, nobody cared enough to see her soul.

Affection / to you, a myth, you don't really know what it means. Do you?

All she wanted was to be loved,

What else does a kid actually expect?

Her mum read her fairytales at night, it was 11 years ago she thought, and put the book beside her pillow.

She looked at the sky,

Haven't I done well ma? She called out

peacefully laying in her bed,

Thinking just what she thinks every day,

The sun rises and so does she, not like she slept, never did she.

Infront of the mirror she stood again,

Her daily morning routine

She practiced her smile, hours and days

Award winning acting, everybody fell for it.

The cheerful dog / smiling the whole day and whimpering all night
