The Chance To Know:

The chance to chance upon someone's eyes

Take their yearning

To live—breathe in a summer day

The chance for that to ever be

So the yelling cries close to me

Unheard, had I closed my ears and cut it off

I would dare not do so, for he will hit me

I will bleed,

The chance to chance upon someone's eyes

Watch the city lights where stars melted into dark

And wish their life be your very own

Wish I could braid my hair like they ever did

In front of a mirror view.

The chance to chance upon someone's eyes

And know the terrifying truth

Your pains pale against their tears

They have sold their firstborn

To a devil in a cave

Just to live a quiet life

They wish to hear the yelling cries

And be me,

bleed all over

Had I cut my ears and threw them off a far-off cliff
