The Broken Lie

Only a blink tells,

There lies the dreadful lie.

The dreadful lie is a mirror

That hidden viper,

Calm to menace,

Takes that form

Which dreams touch the feet of.

Luring every sense

As is the craft of all evil,

Forever must be sacked.

But for now

Now it is tame,

In the form of a soft soul.

As I move closer;

In sapphire white,

Behold this champion

This honest nose,

On a serene smile,

Smoulder on that lip,

Which brings down cliffs

A warrior’s stance,

And mercy perchance.

With a noiseless applause

Is greeted by every nook

Of that in the mirror,

Is my resplendent self.

Looking in the eyes, a monster;

A fretting drip on the skin,

Lip chained to lip,

Screaming cracks every corner,

Every corner black;

Perspired to judgement

Frettedly turning,

To search a better form

Which I find not.

The hero of dreams,

Worthlessly vain,

Aptly crying,

Fearfully undone by a glance.

The uncommon child

A dark outcast is what I am

To every shuddering bit I cry

“let me be not what is”

Oh if looks could change looks.

As I move close;

In blinding white,

Justly do I stare,

And so stare

The applauding nooks

Now that share

Of my shame,

Grin in power

With my ugly in frame.

But it moves not

So I move close

In blood shot white;

Face meeting the faceless.

As time in undone,

So lies in several places

A nose a cheek and that stance,

Bits now where nooks were

Peeking through red waters

Remember still in silence.

There lies that which

Is the broken lie.
